Conquest carberator problems

Postby Allen D. Hoffmann » Sat Jan 22, 2005 7:45 pm

I have a Cox made Conquest .15 recently added the Perry carb to use it for .15 profile carrier. The needle valve keeps unscrewing. Engine wont hold a setting for more than 4 laps. I've lost to needle valves in flight. The engine runs rice but runs withe needle valve out. Any idea or alternativley other carborators available?

There is an easy fix for this. The problem results from the small c-clip that the needle springs rides against on the perry carb. Instead of the spring not being able to rotate it c-clip rotates in the groove with the spring.

The fix is to colapse the first coil of the spring slightly so when you place it over the brass spray bar where the c-clip is located it actually grabs the spray bar tightly. Then screw the needle in. (The spring should stay attached to the spray bar even with the needle removed.
