Kraft 61 No 3746

Postby astrahog45 » Mon Sep 15, 2008 4:28 am

Have a little used Kraft 61 which I obtained 4 Months ago
Original Kraft Paperwork ( No Pun) states Serial No 003746 .
Came in a Sand Yellow Kraft Box
Has RJL 61 stamped on the Crankcase with Big "K" .
Stamped on bottom of crankcase C 10318
Is this one of the first Prod Line by RJL or is this someone originally having a joke by putting a RJL 61 K in an original Kraft Box with
Paperwork for an Original Kraft 61 ?
Any Columbo's out there ?

That was number 318 that we made at RJL. It was not sold in the Kraft box.

We had about 2000 crankcase castings from Kraft. The very first 100 engines had the K filed off and a big RJL logo and K.61 stamped on the the bypass, then it was polished. No signs of the big K remained. I did them alll myself and that was about all I sold in 1980, 100 pieces.

When we made new castings the RJL K.61 was cast on. Just like it is sold today.

Hi

I am looking at getting a MAC 2800 Header for T/Pipe .
The Claim is that it fits KRAFT61 and RJLK61 ( which I have now had
identified) .
The Holes in the RJLK61 manifold are 1.25 inches ( 32 mm ) between
hole centers .

Sheldons state that the distance is 1.134 inches -

Is the head of the Donkey mis -aligned here ?
As both Products are US made can anyone clear up this or alternatively
suggest what I may need should these holes not align .

Would be grateful for some clarity.
