Normally, the high side of the baffle goes on the intake side, but I'm not looking at a Bantam piston and I forget exactly what it looks like. On an O&R, the slanted side goes toward the exhaust. Someone here will correct me soon if I'm wrong.

Baffling baffle

Postby max hansen » Thu Jan 13, 2005 8:01 pm

The baffle on the piston of a loop scavenged engine always goes to the intake side . It is there to direct the fresh mixture up toward the head & not straight across & out the exhaust ,and also to help push the spent gasses out the exhaust . Also watch the port slots on the cylinder as they can be reversed easily on a Bantam ,the highest slot is the exhaust one . MAX H.
