Sad News For antique engine collectors

Postby chiefss » Mon Aug 17, 2009 7:15 pm

Ted Enticknap, who was one of the giants of model engine collecting, passed away in Seattle on August first. Ted had hundreds if not thousands on model engines from the thirties to the present. If any of you have Tim Dannels American Model Engine Encyclopedia you can see dozens of ted's engines in its pages.

He will be sorely missed in the collector world.

He will remain in memory and conversation for ever though, in retrospect of what he achieved and stood for.

Another bit of sad news. I also learned that another great Seattle collector passed away. Gil Coughlin went to that big engine factory in the sky last month. He tried for years to get my 5 M&M engines away from me.

He was another good guy.

Fun old fart, the kids loved to have him around

Gil was a good man and fun to do a deal with. We used to flog old mags occasionally.

1930's MAN's last time around.
