Hi just purchessed the motor from the usa and found a small crack in the crankcase and would like to repair .locktite or what other method would you recommend it is where the front bolts on there are 3 thin bolts between the bottom and the topon one side of the motor .Looking forward to a reply ...John Schicker :?:

The only material I have had any luck with short of welding is the regular JB Weld . Don't use the 5 minute as it don't seem strong enough. You may need to v the crack with a small file or Dremel tool if you can get at it. . Usually O&R's don't crack unless the have been crashed. Good luck, Max H. :D

I had one that was cracked on the side of the case, and I cut a small strip of .016" aluminum, and used JB Weld to apply the aluminum to the crack. It worked just fine. I did pull the front end off, and cleaned the area where the crack was inside and out with lacquer thinner before the repair.
