Rossi did indeed market an 09.
Bruce de Chastel was the Rossi importer in Australia back in the late 80's early 90's. He represented Australia in a few world pylon champs but that's another story.
He brought in some Rossi 09's for our 1/2A pylon comp after they increased the capacity of the engines from 049 and 051's to 0.10's
They look identical to the Cipolla 09's and I'm guessing there was probably some co-operation with the design and manufacturing. Maybe Cipolla bought the tooling from Rossi? from what I remember they were both out at about the same time though. The Rossi had an R on the case. The Cipolla engines in my collection have a C on one side and an i or j on the other.
They had TD style porting and a plain bearing shaft.
They were quick, but not as quick as a modified 10FSR using a nelson button head and some timing changes.
Cheers JG
