Cox Medallion .15

Did the Medallion .15 come with a ball and socket piston or did it have a piston pin as with the Cox Special .15 MK II?

Yes. The two Medallion 15's I have had both had piston pins. I have seen a NIP Medallion 15 cylinder and piston which had a ball joint in the piston. You pays your money and you takes your chances!

My experience with them is that the std one (single bypass, twin exhaust ports) came with a ball and socket joint little end, whereas the R/C version-the type with the ground cylinder OD and a rotating exhaust restrictor throttle-has twin tranfers, twin exhausts and a conventional gudgeon pin a la Cox Spl 15 Mk2.

So both types were made.

Hmmmm, also good information, and interesting. I'll have to take this one apart and look closely to see how it compares with your description.
Thanx.
