FOX 35 golden annv. edition/ spraybar???

Postby Doctor House MD » Thu Jun 11, 2009 1:54 pm

HELP AN OLD GUY OUT PLEASE. I'VE RETIRED AND SOLD ALL MY RC STUFF. I HAVE A FOX 35 THAT I BOUGHT YEARS BACK, AND STORED AWAY. UPON TRYING TO RUN IT AGAIN I HAD NO SUCESS. THE WAY IT ACTED I BELIEVED THE NEEDLE VALVE WAY GUMMED UP. I REMOVED IT TO CLEAN IT OUT AND NOTICED THAT INSTEAD OF THE USUAL SINGLE HOLE IN THE CENTER OF THE BAR. IT HAS TWO HOLES STRAIGHT THROUGH THE BAR. DOES THE HOLE FACE STRAIGHT DOWN THE CENTER OF THE VENTURI OR 90 DEGRESS TO THE CENTER OF THE VENTURI??? SOMEONE PLEASE SAVE ME THE TRIAL AND ERROR METHODE OF SOLVING THIS PROBLEM I HAVE BROUGHT ON MYSELF.
THANKS SO VERY MUCH
DOCTOR HOUSE MD.

The two holes go 90 degrees or sideways when you look in
the venturi. Good luck. What plane are you putting it in?

GEORGE,
THANKS FOR THE HELP. I WAS SURE IT WAS ONE WAY OR
THE OTHER. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR COMING TO MY AID
I'M SO GLAD THIS WEBSITE IS HERE. ITS POWERING A SIG
BANSHEE. THIS IS THE LAST CL I BUILT BEFORE SPENDING
A SMALL BUNDLE ON RC. IT HUNG ON THE WALL FOR TEN
YEARS AND I MISSED THE FEEL OF THE HANDLE IN MY HAND.
IVE ALSO GOT A SIG FAZER THAT IM CONVERTING TO CL ALSO.
I'M LOOKING FOR PLANS FOR A F-8 CRUSADER PROFILE THAT
I BUILT BACK IN THE LATE SIXTIES. I BELIEVE IT WAS EITHER A MIDWEST KIT OR A TOPFLITE KIT, NOT SURE. IT WAS A HANDFUL
TO FLY, IT ACTED TAIL HEAVE BUT THE CG WAS RIGHT. YEARS
LATER I REALIZED IT WAS THE ALL FLYING TAIL THAT WAS THE
PROBLEM. WELL THANKS YOU GUYS FOR THE HELP....

I was never able to get consistant runs out of my Fox 35's with the old flat needle. I replaced the assembly with a Super Tigre NVA and no problems. The ST NVA is bigger around than the Fox NVA, so supposedly you have restricted your venturi and lost power. Couple of times at contests I was asked if I was flying an ST 46 so I never did any reaming out.

Hi, again, Doc - and you, too, Jim... :D

In the other thread, I mentioned my preference for the OS or ENYA NVAs for the reason Jim referred to.

The Fox 35 spraybar holes are not exactly across the middle of the spraybar, They are offset just enough that you can see both of them when they're in "wrong." So, turn them so they are across the throat, but neither one is visible.

Sorry to be so basic in the other post, but - from your comments in this thread - I have a better idea of your knowledge.

Best of luck!
