K&B 40 Throttle range

Postby JSRagman » Mon Nov 07, 2005 2:09 pm

I have an older K&B 40 with the large square carb. My engine seem to peek out at half throttle on the carb. I have very little speed range with this engine ilde and full powe very little happens between half and full throttle. I have put more than a gallon of fuel through the engine between break in and flight time. Any help would be great.

What exactly do you mean when you say "time."?

JSR,

Do you have the instructions for your engine? There should be some set-up guidance in those. If not, possibly the host here could help, or take a look at the engine salesroom in here to see if your engine is still available. Most have on-line instruction books avaiable.

Other things that could affect your problem: prop, fuel, glow plug, carb set-up, even outside things like air leaks in the tank, the fuel line, or around the carb base.

If it is basically the classic 4011, it should be a solid dependable and powerful horse for you.

Next!
