os25fx questions

Postby Vancouverman » Fri Feb 09, 2007 9:44 am

Hello:

I built this flying wing spad. It calls for a OS25fx motor. Can anyone tell me what other motor would be similer to this but faster? I just want this wing to be a screamer. Is there any performance upgrades for the OS25fx that will improve it? Tunned muffler help? Or is the Os25fx a pretty fast anyway? I know there must be a performance motor this size out there?

Thanks

The OS 25 is a pretty hot little engine. A buddy of mine flies combat with the 25. A couple things you can do to get more power are, remove the head gasket, remove the muffler baffle and or a tuned pipe should get you 800 rpm.

First I think I would dump the nitro to it . 25 to 40%. Also for the bucks the BB Fox .25 is a good runner. MAX H.

If cash is not a problem and speed is a must buy a Jett 25, 9x5 prop and about 18000 rpm. But really, the OS 25 after it's broken in should spin a 9x5 at 13500rpm.

Try a magnum .28 same size of mount fits it as the .25 then you get a little more power but a sharp gain in in power would come from a super tigre .34 they fit .25 mounts too.
