Stallion 35 RC Gnrl Info

Postby WORNBOOTS » Sat Jan 26, 2008 5:10 pm

I came accross this engine in a buy-out still mounted on a test board and covered with dust, but before I try to restore it to flying cond. I'd like to know the proper steps. and yes that is dried blood on the prop which is probably why it was stored away.

What type and era plane should this be suited for?

What is your opinion of this engine from experience?

Pic's can be seen on my putfile page in the Stallion Album

Thanks for any info, its appreciated

Stallion .35 R/C

Dan , Your engine was made in 1973 so any .29 to .40 size plane would be good . Falcon 56 or others that size. I flew the U/C version of this & they held up better than the Mc Coy's . Need fuel with at least 25% oil with some or all castor oil . If it is stuck ,heat it with a heat gun or a lpg torch on the cylinder . No ball bearings to worry about . Not a bad old chug . Good find . CYL, MAX H.

Max thank's

Its seen very little use and I dont think its ever run anywhere but on that board, needle is free and prop/crank does move. However I have not rotated it through a complete rev., maybe the old cub I have will work for it.

Dan

Glad to see you made it back ok! I just went through your pics and you've got some nice stuff there. The Stallion is a nice find. They do run well and like was said already, use castor to keep it happy. I find they are a bit heavy compared to modern engines but good runners.

Cheers

Frank Thank You verry much for you effort, I'll try not to forget again.
did you see the McCoy 19 (Silver Head ??) on the old S-Ray?? it appears to have never been fueled.

Thank's....................Dan

Edit.......... In between the head-fins is a light blue residue, almost appears that the paint has just deteriorated???
