exhaust help

Postby 1dadof2 » Sat Apr 04, 2009 3:59 pm

I'm finisning a KMP FW 190. It is powered by a RCV 120 sp. You know the strange looking engine. Any way with the stock muffler and header are completely enclosed in the cowl. What I need to know is can I use a neoprene muffler extension on this muffler to vent out the exhaust.

That engine is a 4 stroke and I find exhaust runs hotter on them so the neoprene may not handle the heat. Another item, I find a long piece of tube may effect power output. An inch or two should be ok. Try it and see how it runs. Can you get a muffler with longer stacks? Maybe a Bisson muffler? I see he does not list one but I know the Bisson boys and they could modify your existing, just have to ask. I also know the guys at KMP, ask them for suggestions, again good bunch to deal with.

I talked to Andrew at KMP, he told me to e-mail Slim Line but I've gotten no responce. What I would really like is to stretch the existing header and use the original muffler. Or maybe add a 2 inch extension. Tim
