RJL diesel suggestions

Hi all!
I wanted to use a .40 diesel engine. But they stopped making those
:cry:

So I plan to buy a Thunder tiger PRO 40 and a diesel conversion head. Mostly RJL. But then there seems to be a new player by the name Davis Diesel. And the price is a bit choking for a good ol' worker.

What's with the DDD heads anyway? What pros/cons?

Also will my glow engine get spoilt soon if i convert it to diesel? Like some old timers told me that the PAW diesels which they bought in '58 still runs nice.
Can one say the same with glow to diesel conversions ?
Please suggest, criticize, encore.. but do reply =)

You're about 30 years out of date-David Diesel is not a new player-they've been around at least as long as RJL-and in the diesel side of things-longer! They ARE the go to people if you want diesel conversions for schneurle glow engines. Do a google search for the DDD website.

The RJL head uses an o-ring on the contrapiston. In my example, purchased many years ago, the o-ring was too low and the circle of metal below the o-ring broke off in flight. Not good. Made a new contrapiston with the o-ring a little higher up, and it works fine. I flew the head on a Tower 40 and converted same back to glow and flew it for several years.
