My Chinese Oliver Tiger diesel engine's piston bottom comes up past the exhaust port when I turn it over; I believe that this is called sub-port induction. What effect does that have on anything?

Sub-piston induction lets the piston pass the lower edge of the exhaust slit to open up a small gap to let additional air into the crank case to increase the O2 concentration in the mixture to get a better burn.
