DC information

Postby BRIAN PEART » Wed Nov 14, 2012 1:42 pm

Would anyone know if the needle for a DC Rapier 2.5cc is the same as the DC 1.5cc as I have just purchased a Rapier with no needle but I have a 1.5cc with a original needle assembly
Would be grateful for any info
Thanks
Brian

I have a red headed Rapier and a Sabre.
The NVA's of these are 100% similar....

It depends on whether you are talking about an original 1957 Rapier with the green head, or the 1973 reissue with a blue head and silencer (there subsequently some red heads made in the original styling)
The 1957 model has a brass spraybar and needle, with a brass 'handle' (about 2.5mm dia, slightly tapered) slipped over the bent end of the needle valve.
The later 1973 (muffler equipped) model has a standard DC spraybar and needle with the aluminium thimble and spring steel friction device.
