WANTED: K&B 11cc .67 (5101?) Outboard carburettor

Postby JDW » Fri Feb 17, 2012 4:38 pm

Does any one have one for sale or know where I can locate a suitable aftermarket unit?
It's for a boat (Series 1 Prather LapCat Kevlar layup) I built 20+ years ago and have recently reborn.
The original carb lost it's eccentric screw and lock nut repeatedly.
(Yes, the prop was balanced.)
Loktite etc. was of no help.
Eventually the thread stripped.
This resulted in me re-tapping to a slightly larger size thread.
At this point the carb cracked around the new thread.
A little creative aluminium fabrication & TIG welding later and I constructed an external face plate which gave me fresh metal to redrill and tap.
Works fine, but I would rather have an original.
Thanks for any help offered.
