McCoy 21 Car Engine Questions...

Hi all, this is my first post here. I recently picked up some McCoy 21 car engine parts, and wonder if anyone here used to run/race with these. They were commonly used as hop-up parts for the K&B 3.5s, from what I understand.

My questions are about the toughness of the McCoy case and "full circle" crank; how well do (did) they hold up under high nitro/high RPM use, and also, why was the McCoy rod shorter than K&B's when used with the McCoy piston? The pin height is lower in the McCoy piston, and the rod shorter than K&Bs. Was this to rev quicker, or higher...? Did McCoy also make a stock length K&B 3.5 replacement rod? Anyone have a parts list for the McCoy 21s? Here's a pic or two (with a boat flywheel):
