Purple Carb on 7.5cc In Board early 9181 model

I can't find anything on that purple carb, it is however identical to the black, red and gold carb early model with the barrel stop screw.

it has a a main needle but no LSN or idle set screw, am I missing something or the idle set screw is not required.

Also when I close the barrel the engine doesn't turn off, I have to cover the carb with my finger to shut it down.

thanks,
Dan.

The purple carb has a different bore than the black, red or gold carbs but is otherwise identical. These carbs don't have a LSN and are simple air bleed types. The finger over the carb routine to kill the motor is pretty standard as the carbs aren't well sealed.

Thanks Steve,

now, how do I stop the boat before I it the shore?

maybe I be better off replacing it with a red or gold carb.

Dan.

There is a bit of slop on those old style air bleed carbs plus the K&B castings were not always clean and crisp. You might try high temp red silicone sealer on the carb neck that slides into the motor nose piece as a start and see if that helps.
