Postby jocondor » Wed Mar 05, 2008 8:23 am

Hi,
i got an old buggy with this motor, can someone give me some info about it?
I'm not able to find info on internet using GM .11 as keyword, what's wrong?
The motor has no compression and i'd like ti fix it.

Many thanks.

You may have a "G Mark" engine

Any chance you can post a pic of it for us? That way we'll know for sure.

That is definitely a G-Mark engine-and they have been gone since the late 80's. Originally Japanese in origin. They made a range from 0.03 cu in up to .30-including two twins and a 5 cylinder geared radial. Virtually zero chance of finding spares for an .11 these days-other than cannabilising an existing engine.
The .11 would be one of the least well known of the range.

That's a really good looking tube chassis. Is that a product chassis or an original design, perchance? They don't make or sell much stuff like that any more.

You might want to see about re-engining that chassis with a new .11 size unit.

Another good place to ask questions would be the nitro car forums at RC Universe. A post in the Car Nitro and Gas Engines forum with pictures of the complete buggy as well as the G-Mark would surely get you a lot of help with both the engine and the chassis.

Hi
thanks for your kind reply!
The car is a production car made by Playtron (japan) in the early 80's, it was named Viva Arizona and has a nice buggy tubular frame. On the same chassis there is also a version with a Mercedes 500K body.
For that time they were very high-tech with an electric self starter with heat glow that uses the receiver and servos battery pack.

Will ceck and post soon on RCuniverse.
