i have an hp vt 21 that ran great on break in the plane crashed in a tree but did not hit the ground the carb was twisted sideways by a limb and bent the needle housing i bought a new needle vale, housing assembly but now the engine will not run correctly and is harder to start and the idle is terrible i have to keep the glow igniter attached i have tried several different plugs(standard long) but makes no difference i also noticed there is a leak behind the head i can see bubbles coming out i assume this is the problem with bad idle and running i ordered new gaskets but am waiting on them to try if any one knows of any othert suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.

For sure, air leaks to the will wreak havoc on idle and consistent running.
I think you are on the right track. Make sure you loosen and reseat everything, tighten head bolts in cross pattern.
