Postby ben.stutzman » Wed Aug 31, 2011 1:34 pm

I have a os 65 inboard, there is no place on the pipe to hook to my fuel tank vent line to.it runs and goes just fine. Should the vent b hooked to the pipe.
Does anyone no if there is a adapter to make this engine a rear facing exhaust
Thanks Ben

Most engines run fine without muffler pressure

I assume you're using a tuned pipe. The best place to install a pressure fitting is at the largest cross section of the pipe. Aeromarine Laminates likely has a thin wall pressure fitting you can use and Du-Bro might as well. If the pipe wall is thick enough you might be able to drill and tap for the fitting.

Yeah just after the cone starts to taper on A tuned pipe is where ya put the pressure fitting. Like A half inch after the weld toward the exit. Drill and tap it then use locktite. Make sure ya clean it good with alcohol first. It's thin aluminum so not more than a few threads so just lightly snug it with locktite.

Always put the fitting on the converging cone for more pressure. I can run 3 fuel tanks dry in my deep vee without going lean. That's A quart of nitro. ALWAYS use A pressure tap!!!
