Retrieval

Postby papaw14 » Sun Jun 17, 2012 4:46 am

Just wondering what people use to retrieve boats if the engine stops out in the water. I was thinking a tennis ball on a fishing rod, but that might not be the best.

We use an inexpensive fishing reel (no rod) and one of those old school kids rubber ball. We run the fishing line through the ball and secure it tightly. To retrieve, thumb open the reel release and give the ball a good toss.

What is a school kid's rubber bearing?

Rubber ball. The system changed my word as it thought it was something else.

I used the plural of ball (with an S on the end) and it changed the word to bearing. I still saw the word when I went to edit my post, but it displayed differently.

I believe the software that powers these forums is the system that I'm referring to.

Well, I'll be damned. You're absolutely correct. never noticed that before. I typed in bearings and got bearings.

I raced boats for years. Still have an A hydro. Lots of engines but I haven't put a boat in the water in years.

Did it again.

Many people use another rc boat with added appendages or even a kick board cut into a "U" shape to push the boat back to shore check YouTube for some good ideas
