K&B 4050 mounting Dims

Postby mr_lucky » Thu Dec 09, 2004 8:52 pm

I am looking for the mounting dimensions for the K&B .40 ABC, model 4050. Also, is this engine currently being produced? I notice the staus on the website has stated in-process for quite some time now.

Thanks!

They are ok if you run them easy but, if you push it hard the 4050 crankcase breaks just above the exhast port and the whole cylinder pops off. You loose the head, the top of the crankcase and the liner off in the woods.

They are making a thicker case but havn't finished it yet. I believe the engine is still availible with the original (pop off) cylinder.

The mounting is the same as the K&B 4011. Front to back distance between the holes is 11/16" the spread between holes is 1&9/16" and the crankcase width (motor bearer spread) is a tiny bit over 1&5/16".

Hope that helps,

No old cases were ever sold after MECOA bought K&B. I will try to get a 3 view up in the next few weeks.

Old K&B sold all the 40 inventory off before we bought it. This new production is entirely made in California.
