K&B 65 Sportster stuck wrist pin

Postby Matt H » Fri Dec 17, 2004 6:42 am

How do I remove a wrist pin that is stuck in the piston. The connecting rod/wrist pin/piston assembly will not come apart. The engine was previously reassembled with the connecting rod facing the wrong way - with the chamfer facing the back cover of the motor. Simply rotating the piston 180 degrees prevents the motor from rotating because of interference between the piston skirt & back cover.

Thanks!

You have to use a pin with a small hook on the end to pull the teflon pad from the center, sometime the pin will come out with the pad...
or
If the teflon comes out of the pin find a sheet metal or wood screw to screw into the hole in the wrist pin only enough to grab the pin and pull it out.
or
Hold the piston and try to lock the con rod on the wrist pin by twisting it and use the con rod to work the pin out.
