Torque Specifications K&B Outboard - 7.5(.45)

Postby David Mein » Mon Dec 20, 2004 8:45 am

What would be the appropriate In./Oz. or In./Lb. setting for these engines ? (or R/C engines in general ?) I use a micro-adjust torque limiting driver! Thanks , David

I just tighten the bolt untill I feel it stretching slightly.

With a tool like that you could easily develope your own torque values and report back to us. Tighten the bolt and see how much torque it takes to move it a little more. Or, use the torque wrench at a low value and see if it seems tight enough with a regular wrench then work your way up.

The head bolts should be just tight enough so the head doesn't leak or the bolts vibrate out because, of the distortion over tightening does to the top of the liner.
