K & B Inboard Marine

Postby Kozmik » Mon Apr 11, 2005 11:32 am

Hi, I have a Inboard Marine engine, part No on the box is 8384, it dates from about the early to mid eighties. I need a new piston & Liner assembly and need to know if any parts are interchangable with the current models. I have checked the parts listing's and can find no reference to this engine at all. There is a further number stamped on the crankcase if it helps, 50008450. :?

All the 40 K&B of this design, even the Torpedo branded ones, use the same piston liner and ring.

pn
14-4001 ring
13-4001 piston
12-4001 cylinder

Thanks for the quick response, however my engine is a 3.5 cc,(.21) and it is an ABC piston/liner assembly not ringed,so if you can shed any more light on this i would be gratefull, thanks :?

Opps. Sorry about that...

Please see this...

http://www.mecoa.com/kb/89/89-parts.htm
Very early 8906 sleeves had a smaller O.D. Crankcase I.D. and sleeve OD must be checked. Early size is .750 -- Late/current size .765
this is true for all 3.5's
I fixed the page to be a little clearer.
