Wierd K & B 40

Postby Woody218 » Wed Jun 08, 2005 5:50 pm

I just aquired a NIB K & B 40, when I turn it over, at TDC it feels like the piston is hitting the head, it comes up on some resistance, then snaps past TDC. I disessembled the engine, it has a round connecting rod?? Every K & B 40 I've ever owned or seen has a bar stock machined rod.

What's the deal?

You probably have a 4050 abc engine.

No, this is a ringed 40 with a round rod. I removed the rod and installed a spare rod I had, and now it turns over like it should.

The rod rod is bar stock too.

Where did you aquire this? It didn't come out of our factory like that.

I bought it off a guy on eBay. The rod in question is 1.355" center to center.
