I have an old black carb k&b outboard with the clamped in propshaft assembly. Do these run ok on the new synthetic fuel mixes or should i be running it on methanol and castor oil. Outboard had been in storage and i am wondering if it ran the front bearing under the flywheel due to wrong fuel or as a result of corossion while in storage for a few years. I am aware that nitromethane can be corrosive and wonder if this was a contributing factor
Any words of wisdom will be much appreciated

I am not sure if you are saying the front bearing is already corroded or are you just worried about it. Squitr some oil between the flywheel and case to lube the front bearing.
You can use the newer fuel as long as it has 18% oil content.
