You guys are impressive just got my parts I ordered Sat.!! A couple of questions concerning the bearings.
1. Does it matter how the bearings face i.e open end or closed?
2. Any suggestions on how to get the smaller bearings on the shaft?
3. What do I need to use to pack them?
Ok that was three questions! I promise not to bother you until you get back from vacation! (maybe)

1. Does it matter how the bearings face i.e open end or closed?
On the racing bearings what appears to be a closed end is just the retainer. You can put it in either direction. The front or small bearing I prefer to put the "closed end" opposite the flywheel.

2. Any suggestions on how to get the smaller bearings on the shaft?

Now you say bearings with an "s". Are we really talking inboard? All the baerings have a slight press fit so you may have to use an arbor press.

3. What do I need to use to pack them?

Just a drop of oil. No packing as the oil in the fuel oils the bearings.
