3.5/7.5 Outboard parts

Postby jpeck » Sun Feb 19, 2006 11:25 pm

Need a little help, please. First, I have a #8701 outboard and wish to convert to remote needle. Several carbs. listed in parts, but no carb. exploded views except carb. with needle included. Please advise. Also have several 3.5's and would like to try a remote needle conversion. Is this possible? Lastly, I need wrist pin and snaps for 3.5. You show part #'s in exploded view(15-8902-pin and 29-8902 snaps) bot part numbers do not come up on order form. I really enjoy my outboards and hope you can provide me with ordering information. Thanx in advance, Jerry

these were only used on the very last 3.5's made in Havasu. We went back the the teflon pads on all the new production in Monrovia.

I added these parts to the shopping cart for you.

We sell a plug for the needle

Thanx for the help!!!!! That answers my 3.5 questions wonderfully!!!! About the 7.5 though, still need to know for sure the remote needle carb. number for complete carb. I beleive my engine #8701 carb. was ruined by the prior owner. I can not get a good adjust and wish to replace the ehtire assembly. I beleive it to be #80-8721. Is this correct? Then I add remote needle and OFF WE GO!!!! Thanx again, Jerry

Yes the 80-8701 or the 80-8721 will work. The only difference is the fuel inlet nipple location which can be changed back and forth on both.

You can use either 985-001 or 985-002 remote needle
