K&B .61 new carb

I've got a .61 that I'm looking at a new carb for, and would like to know what is the basic difference between the perry carb 980-611 and the K&B carb 80-5804. And can I use a remote needle on the perry? Is the newer style remote needle more reliable than the "classic" one, or just different?

And how are those mufflers coming along? 30-6101

different completly, you could probably use the remote needle with the perry, just leave the existing main needle on a very rich setting.
