K&B 3.5 SS Power Take Off Retainer Ring

I took apart my PTO to replace the bearings, how far down should the small collar fit to the bearings? Should this be allowed to have end play? I dont see the part shown anywhere on the explosion drawing. Where is it listed, or just available with an assembly number?

The collar was discontinued a long time ago. It should br pressed down against the bearing. Not too tight, just touching.
