K&B 7.5 Outboard new piston too tight in new sleeve

Postby Sohn123 » Mon Jul 30, 2007 2:49 pm

I am installing a new piston and sleeve I ordered from you in my 8702, and the piston comes to a dead stop about 3/4 of the way up. It is very tight, and I don't want to force it. What do I do?

Thanks

Please read this. And check it again after it is assembled.

Piston & Sleeve

Postby Sohn123 » Sun Aug 05, 2007 8:49 am

I understand the purpose for the taper of the sleeve, but unfortunatley the fact remains that the fit is so tight that this engine will not go through a revolution. I am relatively certain that this piston was not correctly matched to the sleeve. Do I return them for another set?
