Got an older .65 2-stroke in a sale package deal. Someone has shaved off about half of the cooling fins on top of the engine, and he told me that was done because the engine ran too cool; shaving off some fins instead of replacing the head with a K&B gold head with smaller cooling fins. Sounds strange to me, but I know nothing about K&B engines. It runs great as is...so any advice from K&B experts?? All my other engines are OS....

The K&B Sportster .65 motors did run too cool and the shaved heads were a partial cure. I think they even came from the factory with this fix.
