3.5 carbs..whats the best to use

hi can anyone tell me whats the best carb to use for a 3.5 outboard...IS it the BLACK,GOLD,PURPLE,RED???? Anyone please help...thanks

The black carb is the smallest, and will run and idle good with one. The gold carb is standard on the new SS outboard, it likes wide open and doesnt have much vacuum. The red and the purple carb is the same, just different types of anodizing and I think the red is too large to work.

What David said! The black carb will give the best throttle response from idle on up but the gold carb works best at high RPM with 45% nitro fuel or more.
