Early 7.5 OB crankcase sizing

Postby fast rigger » Sat Sep 06, 2008 5:34 pm

I'm trying to resurrect an old 7.5 OB that is missing a crank and a front housing. How do I find out if my crankcase takes a 15mm or a 17mm crank? Do I measure the inside diameter of the case? I've been trying to figure this out by looking at the exploded view of the 8701 and 8792 OB's but to no avail!

Measure the ID where the front and rear covers fit. If they are the same diameter it is the 15mm, if one side is larger it is the 17mm
