K&B .67 11cc Inboard - Asstd issues - LEARNER

Postby thellonious » Tue Oct 07, 2008 5:26 am

Hi,
Just aquired a K&B .67 11cc Deep V 40" Mono Hull. Engine number is <5000. Age estimated @ 1997, runs 25% Nitro, Rossi Tuned pipe. It was an unwanted boat and sentimental value to me.

1. Engine blows Silicon Exhaust Couplers. is there a more ideal connection? eg. Sleeving Tube over header.
2. No High Speed needle anywhere on the boat. Has early style Square Carburettor.
3. What length must the tuned pipe be set to and how do you determine this?
4. Will re shim head upon receipt of parts. Minimum clearance is stated at .018. What is an ideal compression ratio if any?

Last run out on the lake it blew the glow plug out the Button and ordered new parts from MECOA 5 Oct. Waiting for parts but would appreciate any help offered.
Regards
Steven

Be sure the cooling lines are hooked up on the exhaust and these should be the first in the line after the pickup.

You have to have a remote needle number 985-002
search the number here https://shop.mecoa.com/shopsearch.asp
