Need K&B 91 RC Carb Mixture Disk with Needle

Postby rcboneyard » Fri Dec 26, 2008 12:43 pm

I need to verify the correct part number for Low Speed Idle Disk w/2 O-rings Needle in Carb. My K&B .91 RC engine is late 1970s vintage. Pictures are available. Your site show part # 85-5801 for the disk and # 85-5601 for the needle. Thanks for your assistance.

I think you are incorrect about the .91

How did you determine this?
You probably have a Sportster .65 which has a 91 stamped in the back cover for the year the casting was made.

Sportster engine family consists of 3 sub families. The .20 & .28, the .45, and the .65

Distinguishing features: 4 bolt head, Made in USA on one side of case, K&B (not oval logo) on other side. Some had size stamped on mounting lug but most had no size reference. Plain bearing engine. You can determine the size by counting the cylinder fins... the .20 & .28 have 9 fins, the .45 has 10 fins, and the .65 has 13

61 or 91

Thanks very much for the reply. The stamped 91 is a real deceiver, especially since the crankcase and head is so large. I will check for the other details. What is the part number for the Sportster 65?

Regards,

Richard
