K & B 40 Carbretor Replacment

Postby stumblebum » Wed Jan 14, 2009 7:25 pm

I am in the process of refurbing a Sig Kadet Mark II. I have a K & B 40, model 4011 that was purchased somewhere between 1978 and 1981.
It came with an Irvine carburetor even thou the box stated Perry. My main problem with the Irvine is there is no retainer/holder beside the needle valve to hold it in place. I install a new O ring on the needle and it works for a while then vibration either turns the needle too lean or too rich.
Since the part sheet shows this carburetor is not availible, what carburetor can I use as a replacement? This is mounted in the Kadet with the supplied cowl and I don't know if I can adapt it for remote needle or not.

Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions.

stumblebum, would you like to sell this carburetor? If so email me at noell4@msn.com, as my carb body is cracked from a crash.
