Torpedo .40/RC Series 71F Carb

Postby rwisinski » Sun Jan 18, 2009 3:07 pm

I have an old Model 8011 Torpedo .40/RC Series 71F w/front rotor engine, purchased ~1977. The engine came with a Perry Carburetor. It has been in storage for almost 30 years. The engine still has good compression, but the idle is almost impossible to set. It was recommended that I replace all of the "O" rings in the carburetor. After removing the idle spray bar, I found the "O" rings were more like a very hard plastic rather not rubber. Does anyone know how to safely remove these so they can be replaced? If not is there are replacement carburetor available. The throat insert portion measures approximately ID=1.00cm OD=1.25cm.

Thanks,
Bob Wisinski

Use a needle or exacto knife. The sould split and come out of the groove.

Mecoa has o-rings
