K&B 5.8 FR, MODEL 8600, SER #00000768

Postby 8600 » Wed May 13, 2009 6:10 pm

I recently purchased a K&B 5.8 FR engine and I cannot obtain any information on it. It is new and I believe it is a .35 size C/L engine. How do I break this one in and what kind of fuel shall I use? Thanks.

As listed at www.mecoa.com in the FAQ section

http://www.mecoa.com/faq/fuel/fuel.htm
What fuel should I use for aircraft engines? A good commercially made glow fuel with at least 18% oil content by volume, not by weight. If oil content is measured by weight a minimum of 20% is required.
5 to 15% nitro content is adequate for general use. Higher nitro content can be used for competition but customer assumes risk or damage. See also Compression Ratio
