Removing FlyWheel on 7,5 inboard

Postby HardShooters » Mon Aug 24, 2009 8:22 am

New to Nitro boating so bear with me..

Doing an Inspection of my K&B 7.5 (9181) i have noticed some of the bolts on the engine have worked there way loose..
My question is this How does the flywheel come off?? as i have to remove it to get to the bolts behind it on the motor casing..

Is it pressed on or threaded??

Motor is a K&B 7.4 inboard (9181) steel flywheel

also should i put some (blue) lock tight on all screws and bolts ??

thank you for any help..

The flywheel has a hole drilled on the side into which you slip in a rod( drill bit works) of the proper size. You then loosen the hex coupler and the flywheel should pop off. It it seems stuck, then thread on an acorn not of the proper size and while holding the flywheel in one hand give the acorn nut a gentle tap with a hammer.
