I just bought engine from you which arrived yesterday. I have read faq about abc engines. This engine is extremely tight at TDC. Makes a screeching sound as it gets to TDC. Is this one too tight. If this is normal it is going to be a pain to start the first time. I know my electric starter will pull it past TDC. Thanks Mike

Be sure the glow plug is installed and a little light oil like wd40 is in the cylinder. It should pop through fine. The bigger the engine the harder to keep a good fit on an ABC set up. This is why you won't see ABC used engines much bugger than this. The bigger you get the harder it is to control expansion rates between the piston and cylinders are at operating temps.

Don't run your engine real rich. You want to preserve this pinch at the top. If it is really cold outside, less that 50 degrees F I would suggest heating the engine a little first. 80 to 90 degrees F are good for starting. A butane torch works fine.

After the first run of a few minutes the squeek will go away.
