Veco .45RC Wrist Pin

Postby PbFlinger » Sat Jul 03, 2010 3:17 am

Hello all,

Can anybody tell me if this engine is supposed to have wrist pin end buttons? I have one that does not have any sort of pin retension. It has been ran this way before I got it. I can see light marks on the liner from contact with the ends of the pin. It doesn't look like damage, but it looks like it was supposed to have some sort of end buttons (teflon?). If so, any ideas for a source, or perhaps buttons for a different engine would work?
Any info much appreciated, Thanks.

Yes there should be teflon pads on the ends of the wrist pins.

I think the ones from our 40 will fit but I need to double check.

Hello, and thanks for looking. If It'll help, I measured my pin at .2045" diameter. Pin length is .8215", with a .8495 piston diameter. This would leave about .014 at each end (with zero clearance). My pin has a small hole drilled in each end for an alignment pin. If there is something close available I don't mind modifying it to fit.
Thanks a lot for trying to help!
