K&B 6.5 RIRE Engine Identification

Postby Lou Zeman » Fri May 06, 2011 3:55 am

Good Day:

I puchased an old K&B 6.5 RIRE engine and would like to identify it. The
mounting lug has the number '1 1542' stamped on it. Looks to me like a pylon engine, has a venturi only. I took it apart for cleaning and a going over and want to verify the direction of the piston wrist pin. Is the teflon button suppose to be facing the exhaust port or the inlet port. I have tried looking at the exploded views and found both directions shown. I just don't want to put on the exhaust port side and have it melt. Finally are any of the newer parts interchangable with this engine. Thanks for your time and any information.

Regards
