CAN I LEAVE GLOW PLUG CONTINUOUSLY POWERED?

Postby GRUBB595 » Wed Nov 28, 2012 8:15 pm

HI,
On a K&B 2 stroke .61 that is pylon mounted on a seaplane I have continuous problems with engine quitting on taxi and takeoff run due to water splashing up. To improve reliability can I leave glow plug constantly powered with onboard glow driver or is glow plug not able to handle that? I tried commercial glow driver but of course they only light at low throttle.
Thanks

Which plug are you using? 4520 Idle bar or 3711 Med Hot?

You can leave power to it all the time. Worst that will happen is buring out the plug.
