special tools?

Postby aquawilly54 » Sun Aug 03, 2014 4:04 pm

Hi all.
My bearings in my K&B 7.5 outboard need replacing. I just need to know if there are special tools for removing them. If so where can I find them? If not; is it just a matter of heat and pressing out?
Thanks.

Any bearings I've taken out of engines, just heat up in the oven, out using a glove and they should almost drop out. Or the rear bearing with a tap onto wood to have it fall out, and push the front bearing out with wood dowel not to damage anything.

When replacing, heat the crank case, and freeze the bearings and they will just slide straight into place.
