idle screw adjustment

Postby guzberry » Tue Jun 20, 2006 1:48 pm

I purchased two MECOA 46 engines and using both. Was trying to get idle adjustment which was hard to turn on one of them and all at once was extremely loose. I am afraid to fly with this loose adjustment screw so took this one off until I get findings as to what I have done and how to correct the problem. These are relative new engines and only used this season. These adfjustment screws are deep inset and I have not been able to get it firm enough to be safe to fly. I dont know if I turned to hard to the right or left and have unseated it or what the problem is. Any help would be appreciated, i would like to get this one mounted again. Thanks Art Cauble

If you turn them too far in the o-ring will unseat. Take out the barrel by removing the barrel cam screw, don't lose the spring. You can then screw the idle adjustment screw all the way in and it will come out the oppisite side of the barrel. There should be an o-ring in the groove. Check it.
