Mecoa .46 is not sucking fuel into the carb

Postby Hanapi » Tue Dec 11, 2007 5:54 am

I used a tune pipe on a Mecoa .46 in a Don Muddiman flying machine.
Ran great on the bench and during part of the flight.
The engine quit and would not start afterwards.
It would fire run a couple seconds and die. I changed the plug.
I later noticed it was not drawing fuel into the carb. The only way I can get fuel into it is by completely closing it with my finger.
The tank had been checked and has no problems. I attached another tank with the same results. tried starting it without the pipe but nothing.
It has gotten me beat so far.
What can I look for next?
Thanks,
JR

Be sure the idle adjustment has not moved inward. Also the pipe must be correct for a .46 engine and run an 11 inch prop.

Thanks, I found the problem. The needle valve seal was killing me.
But ....an 11 inch prop?? what pitch??
