K&B 7.5 8702 exhaust pressure to fuel tank

Postby Duke » Mon Mar 16, 2009 3:22 pm

I bought a 7.5cc 8702 outboard motor about 10 years ago however, it's never been run. My boat is almost complete and I will be ready for break in soon. The mounting and maintenance sheet that came with the motor says that "All series 94 carburetors must run with exhaust pressure from the lower unit to the fuel tank". Can you please explain how to do that? Thanks.

To start, you need to use a fuel tank with oly two outlets. One for fuel and the other the overflow vent. The fuel outlet connects to the carb and the vent to the pressure nipple located on the lower unit of the outboard. The exhaust gases flow into the fuel tank and helps to force the fuel to the carb.
